At the Grafton Fire Department, we understand that our members have different daily schedules that affect their ability to respond to calls. Below is an overview of the different membership options we offer.

Weekday,
Part-time
Staff

These members staff the firehouse on weekdays from 6am to 6pm. They not only respond to emergencies during the weekday but also handle many of the day-to-day administrative tasks that keep the department running smoothly.

Primary Duties

  • Primary Responders During the Weekday Hours
  • Perform Apparatus and Equipment Checks
  • Clean Station and Equipment
  • May Be Assigned to an Ad-hoc Committee

Weekday,
Paid-on-Call
Staff

Members who work in the Grafton community during the daytime hours and are able to respond to emergency calls make up this group. These members respond to incidents requiring additional resources beyond what the Daytime, Part-time Staff can provide.

Primary Duties

  • Provide Additional Staffing During Daytime Hours
  • Attend Trainings Sessions
  • May Elect To Be Part Of an Ad-hoc Committee that Interests the Member

Staff

Community members that work outside of the Grafton area during the day but are able to respond to calls other than during the weekday make up this group. These members staff Fire and EMS calls during the night and on weekends.

Primary Duties

  • Respond to Fire and EMS Emergencies
  • Attend Trainings Sessions
  • May Elect To Be Part Of an Ad-hoc Committee that Interests the Member
